Who am I?

I am Dr. Ebru Karpuzoglu. My mission is to serve with the core values of unity, justice, cherisment, science and innovation. It is very important for me to respect all living beings to try to understand them and to meet their needs.

In line with my mission, i work as a lecturer (Ass. Prof.) in the departments of business administration and healthcare management. I provide professional mentoring and coaching services to Chairmen of the Board of Directors, CEOs, managers and those in need in areas such as family business, strategic management, international management, management, human resources, marketing and personal development.

Within the scope of mentoring and coaching services, I take into account institutionalization, corporate governance and sustainability in structuring family and company systems. I structure family and company systems taking into account issues such as institutionalization, corporate governance and sustainability. These systems are related to legal, strategic management, financial, digital, human resources, administrative, managerial, marketing, genetics, health, psychology and social issues.

I also serve as an independent board member, professional speaker, TV show producer, author and trainer.

  • I prepared one of the first doctoral thesis entitled <Institutionalization of small and medium-sized family companies in Türkiye>.
  • I published the first books in Türkiye on Institutionalization in Growing and Developing Family Companies> and "Boards and Directors in Corporate Governance".
  • I developed and taught the first course on "Institutionalization in Family Businesses" at Trakya University, which is YÖK approved at the University Doctoral Education Level.
  • I developed and taught the first class on "Institutionalization in Family Businesses" at Yıldız Technical University, which is YÖK approved at the undergraduate level.
  • I initiated, organized, and lectured the inaugural certificate program in family businesses, named "Institutionalization in Growing and Developing Family Companies," at Yıldız Technical University.
  • I am a pioneer in publishing academic studies and implementing practical applications in Türkiye, covering family constitution, legal structuring, risk management, disabled family members, digital structuring, genetics, healthcare, social structuring, and bride-groom orientation.
  • I presented the first TV show for family companies in Türkiye, titled "Family Companies with Dr. Ebru Karpuzoglu."
  • I developed the ESDFB model for the Digitalization of Family Businesses. With this model, it becomes possible to effectively and efficiently manage all systems of the family business such as analysis, succession management, risk management, family constitution, asset management, sustainability and institutionalization in a digital environment, presenting and developing the most appropriate alternative, specific to each family and business.
  • I developed the EPMFB model for Family Businesses.
  • I am among the first to provide training and consultancy on "Family Businesses" in Türkiye.

I have many national and international articles, certificates of appreciation and books.

I care about continuous self-improvement in accordance with the changing world requirements. For this reason, I consider scientific, useful, service and awareness in my work. Entegrate of my knowledge and experience in the academic and business world, I can easily integrate different information and make benchmark because I have structured different systems in different positions. With this feature, I can transform companies and individuals in a unique way.


Differences

Approach to Work

By accurately identifying the needs of families, companies and individuals, i structure family and company-specific systems in line with professional ethical principles. In line with needs, i carry out the necessary studies in line with the principles of authenticity, confidentiality, sensitivity and professional ethics.

I process the information obtained as a result of the analyzes together with the stakeholder company/person with the principles of confidentiality, applicability, practicality, value creation, and transformation into a useful business model. I provide appropriate trainings in an interactive and practical manner and complete the projects by turning the systems into the know-how of the company.


Mentoring Process

Mentoring studies involve an 11-stage process.

  1. Acquaintance and Intention Stage: This initial stage involves meeting the customer, understanding their intentions, and identifying basic needs.
  2. Contract Stage: At this point, a contract is formed, outlining the mutually agreed-upon needs, obligations, and responsibilities of all parties involved.
  3. Acquaintance and Information Stage: The third stage includes an informative meeting that questions are addressed and additional information is provided.
  4. Training: This stage focuses on creating a common language, aligning knowledge levels, fostering communication within the mentoring team, and forming a trusting atmosphere.
  5. Analysis: The fifth stage utilizes various analysis techniques and data collection methods to pinpoint the root cause of issues and distinguish signs and problems.
  6. Planning Stage: Vision, strategic goals, objectives, and targets are determined during the planning stage. A program is created, systems are structured, and working methods are formed.
  7. Organizing Stage: Material and human resources are allocated in the seventh stage. Authorities, roles, relationships, and administrative bodies are defined.
  8. Structuring Stage: This stage marks the beginning of system structuring and includes training activities.
  9. Presentation Stage: Systems are introduced, and questions are addressed during this stage.
  10. Implementation and Evaluation Stage: Systems are implemented, revisions are made, and the project is evaluated.
  11. Completion and Delivery Stage: In the final stage, systems are delivered by instructing relevant individuals and integrating them into the corporate culture.


Training Process

  1. Acquaintance and Intention Stage: This is the initial stage which is familiarized the customer. In this stage,  their intentions and needs is determined at a basic level.
  2. Contract Stage: At this stage,  customer needs, participants obligations and responsibilities are defined, and formalize the contract through signing a contract.
  3. Finding Stage: During this stage, training programs that align with the customer's needs are defined. The content, application method, location, duration, timing, materials, and training are specified. Necessary organizational arrangements are made.
  4. Training Stage: In the fourth stage, interactive and practical training are made.
  5. Evaluation Stage: The final stage, the instructor, participants, location, and the overall training program are evaluated.


Certification Process

The certification process takes place in 4 stages.

  1. Needs Determination Stage: In the first stage, the needs in business life are determined.
  2. Training Stage: At this stage, trainers who are experts in their field provide interactive and practical training.
  3. Examination Stage: This stage is the stage where the exam is held.
  4. Certification Stage: At this stage, participants who continue the trainings and successfully pass the exams are given certificates.


Personel Coaching/Mentoring Process

Coaching/mentoring process is a 4-stage process.

  1. Acquaintance and Intention Stage: It is the stage where the customer is met, his/her intention is determined, basic information about the process is transferred and the basic needs are determined.
  2. Transfer of Information and Trial Session: It is the stage where information about the work is transferred and the trial session takes place.
  3. Contract Stage: In the third stage, after the parties decide to start coaching-mentoring activities, the contract stage is entered.
  4. Session Stage: At this stage, coaching and mentoring activities begin. Sessions last approximately 45 minutes. Each coaching session is finalised depending on the needs of the person at that moment. Each mentoring session is conducted in the light of the plans made during the needs assessment phase or in line with current developments.
